"the post" also reports that allen received at least one e-mail that talks about kelley from an unidentified account that was traced to none other than paula broadwell. well, there you have it. you're investigating this. i tried to explain this, and i'm trying not to be light-hearted, but there's such an aspect to this story rather well below the importance of the positions these men hold. one of them being, of course, our commander in afghanistan. the other one until recently head of the cia. this aspect to it, it's just -- well, i don't know what to say. i'm not used to covering these kinds of stories and wouldn't be if these weren't the people involved. your thoughts
high-ranking military official, commander of the forces in afghanistan, john allen. florida socialite jill kelley complained about harassing e-mails and contacted a friend at the fbi. the account was found to have belonged to paula broadwell. she was given access to david petraeus. locate the was evidence of an affair between petraeus and miss broadwell. the information was leak and petraeus resigned. as more information trickled out, the story got crazier. the harassing e-mails revealed to be not so threatening. the investigation moved forward because of kel little's friendship with the fbi agent she contacted to complain about the e-mails. a friendship that involved the agent's sharing photo of himself. these photos caused the agent to be remove and launched an investigation into his own actions. then this morning and perhaps the otest turn yet reports surfaced of 20,000 to 30,000 pages of e-mails connecting general john allen to kelley. john allen took control of the forces in afghanistan after general
provisions giving you 1.6. the starting point for the administration. john boehner about a year and a half ago stopped about 800 alien dollars worth of revenue through tax reform. republicans won't give a number now but they want tax reform and an overhau overhauled the entirm to generate new revenue. there was talk about this yesterday with treasury secretary commissioner who said to that idea pretty much forgot about it. >> there is a lot of magical thinking about how much money can raise from tax adventures. people will look at that question and concluded i think incorrectly that there is a huge amount of resources. i think that is untrue. >> a dozen of ceos meet with the president and a couple of hours from now after the president's news conference at 1:30. a number of these executives have been to the white house before. members of the export council, jobs council, ceo of of ge, tao, ford, also say what the white house on the different councils in some form or another. cheryl: we will be taken the tae news conference from the president lives and the ceo will have something to chew on
general's left and right. so what does general john allen have to do with this? >> as kelley and general john allen have been linked in an inappropriate relationship with communications. the f.b.i. agent she contacted to kick off the investigation he sent kelly topless photos of himself and went to congress when he felt the agency didn't act fast enough. >> what are these guys doing?% i think the more important question is why do we even know about any of this stuff? why was any of this investigated in the first place? we explain why jill kelly who was asked about these anonymous emails sent to her in the first place, she asked a friend in the f.b.i. to look into it. here's a quote: >> cenk: that's apparently paula broad well sending these messages no one anonymously to jill kelley. where's the threat? where's the crime. why is the f.b.i. literally making a national case out of this. we live in a surveillance state. this is insanity. the source continues: >> cenk: but there's no threats. why is the f.b.i. doing this case which then goes into their most private emails and sex lives and if
for these negotiations, john boehner's position is he is open to revenue, but not if it includes increasing the top tax rate. he is only doing it through some mystery process of tax reform where you have a large amount of revenue, but still at 35% of the top tax rate or if boehner has his druthers, have a lower tax rate, maybe 28% as in simpson-bowles. the white house doesn't think the math will work out. they believe even when it can, you have to do such radical things like eliminating charitable deduction at the top brackets entirely, it wouldn't be worth doing if you could. their view, it is not a compromise to say in a future tax reform process you're going to get that money, they're not going to sign anything that doesn't include the top tax rate going up at the end of december. >> justin, you were in the room with the president today. can you confirm that quote that the huffington post has, i am not going to budge, i said in 2010 i'm going to do this once and i meant it? >> i actually don't remember if those are his exact words, and also the president asked us to keep the contents of that meeting
